This bill clarifies that if a congressional vacancy occurs during an even-numbered year, the Governor can issue a proclamation to ensure that the regular election serves as the special election, too.

HB 1071

This bill proposes increasing the speed limit on turnpikes from 75 mph to 80 mph and highway speed limits from 70 mph to 75 mph. It was nicknamed “The Pae-Way Bill” by my colleagues.

Oklahoma Kratom Consumer Protection Act. Requires that kratom products are appropriately labeled and regulated.

Allows school districts or individual campuses with resources for military-connected students to be designated as Purple Star Campuses.

This bill encourages local governmental units, such as municipalities and school districts, to create inter-local cooperative bids for bulk purchases.

This bill allows municipalities to retain the contact information for dilapidated property owners.

This bill allows a victim of domestic violence, sexual violence, or stalking be allowed to terminate their lease agreement without paying a penalty so that they can move to a safer environment.

This bill reauthorizes the income tax refund tax checkoff program for the Oklahoma chapter of the Y.M.C.A. Youth and Government program.

This bill grants an exemption for providing tobacco products to individuals between 18-21 years of age who are existing users for medical research purposes and scientific studies.

This bill requires that if a health care provider’s insurance claim is denied that a notification explaining the denial is issued within 30 days, along with the opportunity to appeal the denial.
